History
HITECH EQUIPMENT LTD was formed in 1988 with the original intent being to design, build and hire out specialist vehicles, plant and equipment. This was indeed the original path of the company and Mr James Hutton, formerly of Ailsa Industrial Services, manufactured his new range of vacuum extraction equipment, the SUPERVAC. This extraordinary leap forward in design technology allowed machines for the first time to carry out extraction operations to depths of up to some 200 feet. Clearly this cutting edge technology was in great demand and the new vehicles swiftly became popular replacements for the outdated vacuum tankers.
This high demand led to a merger of Hitech Equipment Ltd with a local operational company with the new company operating as one entity. Success breeds success and quickly the new company developed into a force to be reckoned with in the industrial services and waste disposal field. Within a few years of the onset of the new company, the premier technology being used allowed Hitech to carve a niche in the market and build on its reputation as a slick outfit willing to tackle any problem with gusto.
Today Hitech is amongst the most respected of waste disposal companies in the UK. Two strategically positioned depots ensure full coverage of the UK and family ownership maintains the high standards and personal attention to detail that customers have come to expect over the years. The English depot is managed by Mr Derek Hutton, with his sisters, Lesley and Gaynor in charge of the Scottish headquarters. Mr Hutton Senior remains on hand as always to offer advice and guidance wherever required.
Based on a very hands on management style, the family and therefore company motto seems to be - accept anything but blows! To this end, the company has developed far beyond the original remit of an industrial cleaning company. In addition to traditional services such as tanker hire, drain cleaning and high pressure water jetting, the company has now diversified to the extent of offering oil recycling, effluent treatment and sewage farm operation.
The direction of the company has deviated immensely and adaptations have been necessary to facilitate the changes on an ongoing basis. The company worked hand in hand with SEPA and Local Authorities to design and develop a waste treatment facility at our Paisley depot that is both functional and environmentally pleasing.
