Hitech Delivers Infra Red Technology

HITECH's new Infra Red plant - dealing with waste streams such as oil contaminated filter cake, tank bottom waste and interceptor sludges - is now fully operational. Following the Environment Agency's decision of July 2006, all of these wastes are now banned from being disposed of to Landfill facilities anywhere in the country. This technology has been proven in the USA by our partners who already have similar systems operating in refineries around the world.

Although our previous sludge processing plant was able to substantially reduce the volume of hazardous material, the resultant cake waste was still classed as hazardous. Following a successful pilot project HITECH's new Infra Red treatment plant can now reduce the levels of hydrocarbon in wastes to a level acceptable for non hazardous disposal. As a result, HITECH now offers companies a licensed facility where their heavily contaminated hazardous waste material can be re-categorised to a non hazardous status, allowing local landfill or even return to site for the material in certain instances.
This plant is the first of its type in Britain and once again demonstrates HITECH's commitment to delivering innovative waste management solutions.
